ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH

Discover the benefits of having healthy environment at home and at workplace. We advise you about the different environmental toxics that can affect your health , in which spaces we can act and to whom we destinate or services.

TYPES OF ANALYSES

Usual pollutant compounds

AIR QUALITY

Allergens, microorganisms…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Valuing the indoor air quality helps to reveal the huge amount of pollutants that we breathe every day. Improvements in energy efficiency lead to hermetic buildings, reducing ventilation and increasing pollutant levels. The lack of ventilation allows the pollutant’s recirculation in the air we breathe. Indoor air quality is a major factor in health and, many times, we do not really know that pollutant’s proportion is higher indoors than outdors.

5G RADIATION / CEM

Electric and magnetic fields…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Electromagnetic frequences and wireless radiation have become one of the biggest environmental pollution sources, with fastest-growing and potencially harmful. It is impossible to avoid the electromagnetic frequencies in society, but we can find the sources and reduce the exposure we have to face not only at home, but also at workplace. We measure and identify four types of electromagnetic fields: electric fields, magnetic fields, dirty electricity, radiofrequency…

WATER QUALITY

Possible bacteria…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

It is important to know where tap water comes from, how has been treated and if it is fit to drink. Testing water may reveal the pollutants entering your body. If you want to make sure the qualitity of water you consume, we can help you. We test the water to determine its degree of contamination and the presence of pullutants like fluoride, arsenic, pharmaceutical and chemical products…

FUNGI AND HUMIDITY

Pollution we do not see…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Fungal toxins can caused health problems. Mold spores, that pollute indoor’s air, can cause negative effects on health, from mild to severe allergies, respiratory system irritation or fatigue. Aside from the possible adverse effects on health caused by mold, it can damage the structural integrity of your home or building, especially after water leaks, humidity or lack of ventilation.

TOXIC CHEMICALS

Cleaning products, cosmetics…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

There is a great toxic chemicals variety in the home environment, from paints and solvents to personal care products , cosmetics, cleaning products and pesticides. There are about 500-1000 toxic chemicals in a dwelling. If you want to know how many toxic chemicals are you daily exposed to, we can make an assessment and recommend you how to reduce your and yours exposure.

RADON GAS

Homes and workplaces exposed to

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Radon is a carcinogen gas from group 1. Since October 2018, analysing radon gas, in new constructions and remodelings, is mandatory for all European Economic Community Member States. Improvements in energy efficiency drive to hermetic buildings, reducing ventilation and increasing indoor pollutant levels. Lack of ventilation causes the pollutant recirculation in the air we breathe.

WHERE ANALYSIS ARE CARRIED OUT

Spaces to improve welfare

HOUSEHOLDS

Your home, the most important space

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

In developed societies, most of us spend about 80-90% of our time in closed spaces. It is precisely there where the propotion of environmental toxic is considerably higher in relation to outside, up to 100 times higher. Hence the importance to know the real levels we are exposed to, especially in those spaces where we spend more time, such as bedroom, playroom, living room, office, etc, especially the most vulnerable.

WORKPLACES

Offices, medical practices…

Just like at home, most or workplaces are enclosed spaces. When we make a measurement, we frequently find very high levels. Than could have adverse effects on our concentration, memory, productivity, creativity, etc. The reduction of this contaminants helps, not only to improve our physical health, but also our mental and emotional abilities, a very imortant issue to ensure a good service to our customers.

OTHER ESTABLISHMENT

Restaurants, hotels, gymnasiums…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

An effective plan to reduce environmental toxics, thanks to the previous measurement of them, can give your project a seal of good qualitity. Technology has made our daily lives easier, not without harmful effects for our health. It is important to make a difference, creating a healthy environment, so the subconscious of all those who take care of their health will know that they are in safe hands. This way, there is a better possibility that you will be chosen over your competitors.

FOR WHOM?

Our services are intented to different groups

CHILDREN AND BABIES

Measures relating to the smallest

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Baby alarms emit radiofrequency waves, that are harmful for your baby. One of our aims is to help the most vulnerable. For this reason, we help the new parents to design a healthy bedroom for the baby. We help to eliminate the harmful electromagnetic fields, verify indoor air quality, select ecologic materials, like non-toxic bedding, furniture and upholstery for the baby.

TEENAGERS

For those who are not so young…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Our teenagers study online and spend much of their leisure time in their bedrooms, in front of their screens, whether mobile phones, tablets or computers. We recommend to make a measuring of the electromagnetic fields in their bedrooms, in order to reduce, if possible, the exposure to them. A tip for parents: your children must attend the measuring to become aware of reality.

PREGNANT

Women of childbearing age

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Pregnancy is, probably, the most special moment in women’s life. Therefore, we recommend to take all necessary measures in order to reduce the environmental toxic we are exposed to at home. Particular attention should be paid to toxic chemicals and electromagnetic radiations, of all type and frequence, that comes from appliances, wifi, mobile phones, electricity grid, lights, electronic devices conected to the power grid, etc.

SPECIAL PATIENTS

Hyperelectro sensitive, sensitivity, multiple chemical…

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Dr. Robert Becker from New York, nominated twice for the Nobel medicine prize, associate electrosensitivity symptoms with immune system and central nervous system. Thanks to the effort of the Swedish neuroscientist Olle Johansson and his team of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, electrosensitivity has been officially recognized in Sweeden as disability. Affected people even recieve economic aid to screen their homes from electromagnetic fields.

REAL ESTATE AGENCIES

Real estate sector companies

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Today more than ever, having a good immune response is valued. Prolonged exposure to toxics, at home and at workplace can conditioned our immune system. When buying or renting a home, the fact that our reports consider it healthy, can be a value-added differentiating. This is specially important for those who take care of theirselves and care their environment.

HEALTH PROFESSIONALS

Collective addressed to health

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

Health professionals know the relation between environmental toxic chemicals and electromagnetics and a large number of diseases. We offer the chance of knowing the real level of toxic in our patient’s environment, both at home and at workplace. One well-known example is the lipoatrophia semicircularis (benign disorde associated with specifir work conditions), caused by static electricity, or the relation between male and female infertility and electromagnetic radiation.

DECALOGUE TO OPTIMAL CORPORAL DETOXIFICATION

BY THOMAS J. SLAGA PH. D.

Scientific Director of the AMC Cancer Research Center (University of Colorado)

1.- DO NOT SMOKE

Tobacco contains more than 400 chemicals substances and gases, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, benzenes, heterocyclic amines, nitrosamines, radioactive elements, carbon monoxide, and other carcinogenic properties.

2.- AVOID SOLAR AND X RAYS OVEREXPOSURE

Use protective clothing and sun block, that absorbs ultraviolet radiation A and B with sun protection factor (SPF) 30 or higher. It is important that it contains zinc dioxide or titanium dioxide. Most of the new sunscreens we find on the market contain antioxidant, which provides extra protection. We must re-applied frequently.

3.- AVOID PROCESSED MEAT PRODUCTS, ROAST, FRIED OR RE-ANNEALED MEATS

Scientists from Lawrence Livermore laboratories (California) discover that turning hamburgers and other meats frequently helps to reduce carcinogens when cooking. Marinate beef or chicken for 20 minutes before grilling reduce heterocyclic amines. It is a simple step that consists on soaking every piece of meat with a mixture of vinegar, garlic, lemon and mustard. This easy process lower the cooking temperature. Likewise, garlic contains phytochemicals, which help to neutralize dangerous chemicals that may occur during cooking.

4.- AVOID PRESERVATIVE IN FOOD

Nitrosamines may form when preserved food’s nitrites combine with other food that also contains amines and certain medicines in the stomach’s acidic environmen ( for example hot dogs and beer).

Some meats are preserved with sodium ascorbate, the best option because it is a form of vitamin C.

5.- ALWAYS DRINK AND USE CLEAN WATER

It is important to use filters that remove substances identified as dangerous for human (lead, mercury, pesticides, herbicides, asbestos, chlorinated trihalomethanes, bacteria, giardia lambia, cryptosporidium) effectively. This filters are certified by NSF International (www.nsf.org)

6.- ELIMINATE BUGS AND BACTERIA NATURALLY

An article published in Environmental Health Perspective (1998) made clear that some childhood cancers can be prevented by reducing the exposure to pesticides. Botanical insecticides are the most appropriate. The combination of Borax and sugar efficiently removes ants and cockroaches. Keeping the house clean at any time is basic, and also adopting the Japanese habit of removing shoes before coming into the house.

Bhital · Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

7.- AIRING THE HOUSE PROPERLY

Clean fireplace once every year, do not use gas heaters, airing properly when cooking (especialy roast meats), do not use combustion engines in enclosed spaces, do not sleep where there is kerosene. It is necessay to avoid possible carbon monoxide poisoning and other chemicals associated with combustion. For increased safety, install a carbon monoxide detector at home.

8.- CLEAN WITH NATURAL AND LOW TOXICITY PRODUCTS

There are many valid options to achieve perfect cleaning results, without requiring to toxic products, which can pollute the environment. For example: bicarbonate and water for the oven or white vinegar to clean floors and surfaces. Brochure published by the American Environmental Health Foundation about safe cleaning products is really helpful. (www.aehf.com).

9.- BUILD AND DECORATE WITH NON-TOXIC MATERIALS

Paints, wood or carpets contain chemicals, like formaldehy, petroleum distillates, that are dangerous. Before making a decision, we have to make sure that they have the emission of volatile components certification (HUD: Housing and Urban Development) .

Bhital Salud Ambiental & Medicina Biológica

10.- REMOVE DUST FROM HOUSE

Dust is the main reason of lead poisoning in children. It can contain pesticide residues, asbestos and other chemicals, such as remains of animals or pets. We have to pay special attention to carpets and airing.

11.- PREVENT AND REMOVE MOLD SPORES

We have to clean carefully air-conditioners appliances and humidifiers, because they facilitate the presence of moisture and contribute to mold development. Mold contains some harmful toxins. The ones from corn and grains, for example, can produce aflatoxins, that are carcinogenic.

12.- REVIEW THE STORAGE OF CLOTHES

The long-term storage of naphtallene balls can produce carcinogenic gases. The pieces of clothing that need dry cleaning usually must be treated with perchloroethylene, a toxic solvent that affect the health of those workers who use it.
It is advisable to hang up clothes in a well-ventilated area. It is also recommended to wash permanent-press clothing before using them for the first time.

13.- READ THE CHEMICAL LEVEL OF PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS

Volatile chemicals on the labels of nail polish removers, lacquers and perfumes include artificial colors and fragances. We are talking about petrochemicals, that are easily absorbed through the skin and scalp, evaporate and may contaminate the home’s environment.

14.- WASHING FOOD FREQUENTLY

Fruits and vegetables must be washed frequently, as they can absorb chemicals from the ground and the environment. It is advisable to wash them with hot water, at least 5 times before consumption, in order to eliminate pesticides and herbicides.

15.- DO NOT USE ARTIFICIAL FRESHENERS

Only frequent ventilation and cleaning eliminate odours. Many artificial fresheners contain paradichlorobenzene, a well-known carcinogenic.

Fraganced candles are a good alternative if you buy them in naturist stores. Othewise, release polyaromatic hydrocarbons, important agents that generate free radicals. Essential oils are other effective and non-toxic alternative.

16.- EATING LESS, LIVING LONGER

Calorie restriction can protect us from cancer and from other health problems. It is the only therapy that have shown prolongation of life.

17.- MODERATION IN ALL THINGS, INCLUDING SPORT

Infrequent and excessive exercise is unhealthy. It is advisable to exercise your body between 4 and 5 times every week, for at least 30 minuts. Exercise too hard causes damage in the immune system and also increase the production of cortisol and the cytokines.
